Website and Postcard Questionnaire

To get further information on what our audience we decided to put forward a questionnaire, We used the example of 14 minutes for the website and mulberry child for the postcard. We sent out an email contain the questionnaire to the whole secondary school and got back 76 responses. this has given my group and i a good idea of how to go forward and develop our short film.

The Questions

As my group couldn't decide on a definite name we asked the audience what out of our top 5 names they would prefer, the majority chose 'The Sweet Truth' we are happy with this decision and will carry this forward throughout the journey of development of this short film.

For this particular question it was difficult to decide what combinations we would like to put forward, we decided to stick with traditions but also try and add a few 'odd' combinations, however  from the response we got back we have decided to stick with the traditional black and white.

We wanted to find out how to attract audiences towards our short film and one of the best ways to do so is through social media,we decided to find out which social medias are the most popular to reach out to people and as expected the most common are Facebook,Twitter and Instagram.

Using the postcard of Mulberry child participants were ask this question in reference to the postcard, most people have said the main thing they found appealing is the image as it is 'hard hitting' and makes you think, this is be a massive farce when it comes to constructing our postcard.

As this question was straightforward i expected the response to be just as straightforward and the majority of the participants would prefer to see a real life image so that will be our number one priority when constructing the postcard.

This was a very basic question and there is a clear direction of which we need to take our postcard further. most people have responded saying the image attracts the most attention and this is what we will aim to do with our postcard.

The layout of our example website is very basic and we found it very easy to see everything clearly, and the audience responded to it the same way as we have,so we will try follow a clear and easy layout.

This shows a clear answer on the website, it is very easy to navigate and control, it is very clearly labelled and we will follow this structure through the construction of our website.

The final question we proposed was an open question. We got back a large variety of responses as seen below:

What is your overall opinion on this website?
Not easy to navigate and I don't get what it's talking about
It looks really nice but you should make sure that the colours compliment eachother and it doesn't seem like all the writing is all over the place. As long as it's quite simple and classic then it will look fine and will stop people from just viewing it and not bothering to see what it actually is.
I like the layout of this website as everything is clearly shown therefore, you could most probably navigate through this website with ease.
It's alright but I would make the text stand out more.
Informative and well designed, but not overwhelming.
It is very interesting and wants you to find out more. :)
Great website
It's terrible -_-
Very bad
it's good
The layout of the website is good but it is a bit jumbled up or all over the place but the initial idea is pleasing and good . The postcard is really nice too.
very good.
Image is slightly off topic from the website. The image doesn't relate to the aim of the website.
Sleek and stylish. Although the navigation bar could be a little bit bigger.
Good but maybe the picture should be the background or blend with the background
The image is too central, it becomes distracting, maybe increase the font size
cool but weird and unusual, therefore complicated
No
Made for students or people who are interested in movie making. Works very closely with people to enhance new skills and show their talent in front of the whole world.
I like it, it would s very nice and apelling to different people.
Very bad layout and not very easy to navigate
The layout is very good
I think it's eye catching and easy to get information from
The writing could be a little bit bigger.
Really good
Nice picture but would be better with more text.
Clear and neat. Easy navigation and good layout
I'm disappointed in you guys 😩
Good colors, good images
It's nice and organised
Some people might perceive the image to be inappropriate. The whole design aspect of the website looks quite basic. However, the fonts used are quite good and the colour scheme is kept in theme with the whole theme of happiness.
it has emphasis on the image, which is good because that will draw the attention of a reader so they would read the text. Although maybe the font could be a bit bigger so it doesn't require someone squinting to look at it and also place the option bars more towards the left of the page.
Quite attractive and easy to find specific areas
The website looks like it is very easy to use and straight forward
It seems really plain, and isn't particularly eye catching, but it seems easy to navigate
Good use of simple language. It stands out. And it is simple to click on any of the pages
it is cool and really helpful
Links that make it easy to find out more information about the topic. And good short description to get the readers' attention. Also shows the success of the topic which I think will interest the person viewing.
Image is catchy . It's easy to use .
Make sure it's iPad compatible
great

The responses varied from "great" and "well designed" to "okay" and "i don't not understand the aim of the website" looking at this data it is made clear that we will need to have an easily navigated website, catchy and non offensive image and a clear description of what the website contains.

Throughout this questionnaire my role was to construct and distribute, this means i made the questions and made sure they were well constructed as well as understandable to all participants, i then distributed it by sending an email containing the questionnaire to the whole of secondary school.
