Location planning

Our locations vary in our short film.

we have decided in relation to our storyboard to film at 5 locations

Jeppe's House

We are filming at jeppes house as he is our main character and he is the 'heathy' one, we show various themes within his house such as his eating style, the manner of which he wakes up and the activities he does

Abdul's House

We decided to film at abduls house for the similar reason, he is our other main character and he is the 'unhealthy' one,we should similar themes as we did at jeppes house

Aspire

This is where our interaction happens as we only need one common area between the two characters, jeppe is jogging while abdul is eating unhealthy and these chain of events bring them together.

Establishing shots

These shots will take place all over doha to give the audience a sense of the best features it contains. for example we will be filim the cornice to the pearl and the souq.

Logo Design

logo design

Our logo was kept very simple to show how serious this documentary is and to keep it bold, we chose the colour blue as it was the most liked by the audience of the questionnaire and focus group.it is also very easy to read and will be understood globally

this was our first Logo,However after reconsideration and re-designing, the image below is the new logo for our short film.

Tjam Production logo has also changed as seen in the image below

Audience Profile

This is a typically audience profile of which we used when constructing our film  Our film will be suitable for all audiences as it is an informative documentary, we will aim to keep all content appropriate and suitable for all ages.

This film is intent to educate the general audience about diabetes, as teenagers and children are sometimes somewhat reluctant to learn about diabetes, however due to the way we set out our film (using teenagers) this attracts the general teenage audience to learn. As our film is an informative short film we intend for the content to be clear and understandable to all group ages.

The Nationality we are aiming our short film at the local Qataris or residents of Qatar because we are based in Doha and the message we are trying to trying to get across is mostly targeted at people in Doha, although we also aim to get the message across to all different nationalities as it is a worldwide problem. We are going to show this by using a typical Arab to represent what it is like to have diabetes in Qatar and compare it a non Arab also with diabetes

Focus Group

To find out in more detail about the pros and cons of a short film in the field of which we will carry forward we decided to show the focus group the 'sugar rush' documentary. we then constructed open questions to ask them allowing detailed answers to help us with our direction in which we choose to take our film.

The Focus group

Questions

The response from our focus group told us that the documentary did have a very strong message due to the series of events that carried forward to lead to this.

The documentary made people more aware of how series the disease is and clarified the difference between the types of diabetes, we would like our short film to create the same impact if not strong and more understanding of the disease.

One thing most people liked was the personal experience to experts to real life people and we will try incorporate this into our short film as much as possible.

The animations seem useful and helpful in the way of explaining however we are unsure if we will be using this type of conventions because it will not look professional or we may use a minimal amount of it
