Website homepage Conventions



Website conventions:

Headings and subheadings

title at the head of the page or section of a book 

Copy (main body of the text, often presented in boxes)

advertising message that aims at catching and  holding the interest of the prospective audiences. advertising copy is said to be the most important part,changing its wording brings disproportionate results

Hyperlinks (words or images that link to another page)

This may also be known as a hotline or link.this connects electronic documents to each other through automatically transfers to the next page and ends the hyperlink 

Scrolling text

In computer displays, filmmaking, television production, and other kinetic displays, scrolling is sliding text, images or video across a monitor or display, vertically or horizontally.

Images

JPEG,GIF and PNG images are usually used in websites 

Video

videos in website are usually the product or the trailer of the product or something advertising the product. 

Sound


Websites may use music or audio for videos, this may happen automatically or an option. 








Drop-down menus

this is used to ensure the website is not cluttered with a large amount of menu options on your homepage

Search box


 Banners (usually found across the top of a website’s home page)

the banners found are usually advertisements or important information,most websites have Adverts for products and services
