The awarding centers play a very big role in the success of a short film, as the more awards a film has the more attention it will receive, as the placement of the award will advertise the film.

BIRTH OF SOFIE
The Short Film Awards, affectionately nicknamed the SOFIES, was born out of a love for the special art form known as the Short Film.  Due to its brief nature, the Short Film genre fosters an unmatched spirit of creativity, resourcefulness and independence that inspires, stirs and transforms. SOFIE seeks to bring the segmented short film community together to honor, support and enjoy the best work in Short Film.
